Allow Dive Ski & Surf Supplies to introduce you to the wonders of the underwater world and the opportunity to meet new friends. Your first commitment is to bring your enthusiasm - we'll even lend you all the gear. Then you will complete a short theory course that covers every aspect of SCUBA diving. This includes the use of equipment, diving techniques, the diving environment, diving from a boat, safety procedures, and diving holidays.
Once you have achieved that, you then get into the controlled environment of a heated pool, with the security of being able to stand when you want to. You will learn snorkelling and basic SCUBA diving skills, swimming techniques, buoyancy control, underwater emergency procedures, rescue techniques, and the all important handling and maintenance of your equipment.
Later on shore dives from the beach, you will try out all your new skills and learn even more about the delicate ecological balance of the marine world. You will learn how to enter and exit the water, how to navigate under the water, experience the change in buoyancy from fresh to sea water, and practice rescue skills.
Then it's off to Rottnest Island, Western Australian's favourite holiday destination. Just 30 minutes from the mainland, Rottnest Island has some fantastic dive sites of coral reefs, honeycomb limestone caverns and several shipwrecks within easy reach of the shore.
The water is so clear you have an average visibility of twenty meters. The variety of marine life would make even a marine scientist's mouth water. This is the result of the warm Leeuwin current coursing around the island and bringing with it a wide variety of tropical, subtropical and temperate species of corals, sponges, fish and shells.
On board our boat, you will learn some of the final skills from our highly professional and experienced dive instructors, dive masters and skippers. We will show you how to don your gear and improve your buddy skills. You will practice entering and exiting the water again, descending and ascending, buoyancy control techniques, equalizing, navigating underwater and anything else you're not sure of.
Our dive boats offer regular charters to Rottnest Island, Carnac Island and Stragglers Rocks.
Join us for a full day - double dive to beautiful Rottnest Island, or for a single tank - early morning crayfish dive or night dive.
Each boat is complete with Oxygen, First Aid Kit, easy entry & exit, Dinghy, Toilet, Shower.
